Honoring the Legacy of Compassion and Professionalism in Nursing 
The Princess Alice Nursing Award for Excellent Care builds on the legacy of HRH Princess Alice Maud Mary, daughter of Queen Victoria and Grand Duchess of Hesse, who was a strong advocate of modern nursing inspired by Florence Nightingale’s principles. In the late 19th century, she promoted the professionalization of nursing in Germany and supported early women's associations that later became part of the Red Cross nursing movement.Continuing this commitment to quality, education, and humane care, the Award honors outstanding nurses, educators, researchers, and healthcare institutions around the world that contribute to improving nursing practice and healthcare education.
